Hello Friends,

it's 11:53 pm with 7 mins to go before a new day begins and I'm sitting here thinking about how I woke up this morning on the proverbial wrong side of the bed.
Everything and everyone annoyed me even though I had a good night's sleep....or so I thought. My space was a mess, I yelled at my kid, and started a meeting I wasn't prepared for. Why was I so frazzled and it's got to be more than just Monday blues?
I've been trying to get somewhere for such a long time with progress being slow and procrastination steady. Life has thrown me some serious curve balls and I'm doing my best bob and weave dance, but more than sometimes there's a direct hit and I have to stop and take a breath so I can remind myself to whom I belong.
There is a story about Jesus being with his disciples in Bethany and they came across a fig tree that bared no fruit. He could of easily brought it back to life with a gentle touch of His caring hands, but it was not fig season so instead cursed it and it died! Seems a bit harsh at first glance but Jesus was the most purposeful being that ever lived and from every action flowed an opportunity for personal growth.
So, what is the moral of this story? That sometimes you have to prune the useless in order to make room for the blessed. Remove the things (and/or people) that don't help to produce "fruit" in your life. Don't make excuses for the behaviors that hold you back or try to work around them because pretending to have it all together is an exercise in futility and serves no purpose but to delay. It's ok to not always be strong and it's ok to receive help and those two things will not make you less than because there is a Heavenly Father who has already ordered your steps; you need only to trust and believe.
So let the curve balls come because I know who holds my hand. What "fig-less tree" are you holding on tightly to that is impacting your growth?
Be blessed in all you do 💕

I do believe that the non-bearing Fig tree is in fact a metaphor for some of the 'things' that are in life's way, and if we can't get through them, then we must get around them, in order to get past them. Have a blessed day.
